I love photographing wildlife. I find it especially rewarding when I capture an auspicious event in nature. I also love doing portraits! If I can make you happy with the way you look, I’ll be happy! So I will check in to make sure you are comfortable with the kind of shots we are getting. I’m flexible, and I don’t cost a lot. I do photography because I love it, not to become wealthy from it.
What is Western Orthodoxy? And the Church of WOmyn?
I grew up agnostic, until the age of about 15. I began to believe in high school, but had very little knowledge. So, when persecution came, I quickly fell away. Until at least, I began reading the New Testament Bible in college. I read all of the book of John first. Then progressed onto Acts…
Prayer
Ever since I was born-again in 2003, I have been praying. Whenever God answers my prayers… and I witness to my mom about it, she always says “I was praying for that too…”-invalidating my faith and taking credit from the Lord. She takes God’s credit and praise. So most recently, I said “, but you…
The Raptor
Today while I was out, I encountered this hawk again. I saw it before, but never got a good shot of it until now. I also found a mourning dove with a broken wing that I caught and brought to a wildlife rehabilitator. Hopefully she recovers, her mate will miss her. I saw a lot…
Girlfriend Application
Maslow considered physiological needs the most important as all the other needs become secondary until these needs are met.
Olympus Image Stabilization and Cropping
Even with only 12 megapixels, the resolution of my camera is so great that I took this shot at 1/320th’s of a second while laying on the ground. Here it is uncropped vs. cropped: The Image Stabilization of the camera plus the relatively fast shutter speed allows me to use a low ISO and zoom…
The Peace of Mother Nature
Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve had a “happy place” down by the bridge of Irondequoit Creek, in Penfield NY. The first year that I lived there, it was stocked with TONS of monster brown trout! I caught some as large as 18″! Almost every cast I made I was able to hook up…
Gold Finches… and more!
Today I set up my SLR on my new tripod right in front of my window. I sat for about 2 hours during peak sunlight and managed to capture some great shots! Please let me know if you like them.
4th of July
Well, it’s almost Independence day, hopefully I’ll get some more shots of fireworks. But here is a preview… I forgot to take my ISO off of auto, so it’s a little noisy, PUN INTENDED! 😀 I have opened a print shop on Fine Art America, where you can find gosling shower curtains! I also went…
Annual Bee Photo
This spring was full of life! I have a lot of new photography gear on the way, and a few jobs to do. Things are good. I’ve received a lot of support from my family over the past several years. I feel like a dormant bear that’s coming out of a winter’s hibernation. I’m hungry…
Is The Story of Noah’s Arc True?
Does science back up the Biblical story of a Great Flood? One in which was all over the globe, with Noah and his family as the only survivors via a ship besides the animals they saved animals onboard. It took 150 days before for the waters to recede, with the Arc settling on a mountain…
Professional Godox Studio Lighting
I purchased some monolights from BHPhotoVideo.com. I wasn’t sure what to expect, I’ve never had any professional lighting before, so I went with a kit. They arrived very quickly, in a well packaged box. First thing I noticed was how big they were. These are a travel variety, but they really provide more than ample…
Kitty’s Tail Wags Vigorously!
Yes, so I have a cat. I’ve tried to hide her the best I could, because she is so precious to me. But now that we’re settled into our own apartment, I can see that… It’s time for her to be a star! I used to call myself the WanderingiDog. Now she has become my…
New Photographic Opportunities
As I told you all in one of my last posts, I was moving into my own apartment… My mother moved back in January, it’s hilly there, with tons of trees. There’s a creek right down the driveway where I’ve caught TONS of really BIG trout. I have pictures somewhere that I will post of…
Rose of Sharon Bushes
So, we live on a property with a row of Rose of Sharon bushes lining both the front and back of our yards. The bee’s love them! So, every year, I try to get at least one good shot of a bee pollinating the flowers. This year I captured this image, which was shot on…
Lumix 2.2x Telephoto Converter
I recently picked up a converter for my little Lumix. It was a “high definition” model on Amazon for $150. It definitely allows you to zoom in closer. 150mm is the optical Lumix limit on the camera, so if you multiply it by 2.2, you end up with 330mm. It was fun to play with…
Appreciating the small things of life…
I’m moving out of my mother’s apartment, and into my own apartment… I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to do the kind of photography I really enjoy, in my own yard or across my street and in the park. Hopefully, this will be a time of transformation, and I’ll adapt to doing whatever…
Happy Easter Sunday!
Today I simply stepped outside for a moment and was immediately immersed in wildlife, from a young squirrel running from branch to branch tree to tree, to a couple of rabbits hopping around! Let’s take some time to read the Gospel or about the “Good News,” remember, Jesus died for us all, no matter how…

eVolt w/ Image Stabilization – Finally!
I’ve finally been able to get my hands on an Olympus eVolt 620 that has the Image Stabilization operating properly, which is a must for telephoto photography… As you can see, it works! This is an old camera, I got it from a vintage photography dealer on eBay. And it’s in great condition. Expect a…
New Camera – Olympus eVolt e-620!
I purchased an Olympus e-620, however the Image Stabilization on the camera broke within 1 month.
New $30 Monopod
So I purchased a relatively cheap monopod (like a tripod, but with one leg) off Amazon. I noticed a lot of my photographs shot from a distance, with my telephoto lens, look slightly blurry on a large display. Initially, I thought I would need to purchase a higher end SLR with image stabilization. But then…
Flowers of East Rochester.
So everyday my Mom takes our dog for a walk through the neighborhood in East Rochester, NY. It’s a nice little town with a lot of beautiful yards. Sometimes I go with her and take photos along the way. Here are a bunch of my shots from today!
What images can an $18 digital camera produce?
A long time ago I purchased a cheap digital camera from Wal-Mart for $18. It was a Vivitar Vivicam F128. It runs on standard AAA batteries, takes most SD cards, and even has a tripod mount. While I was traveling through Tennessee and Kentucky I brought this camera everywhere I went and managed to capture…
The Squirrel & Hare
In same day I had both a squirrel and a rabbit hang around long enough for a magical moment when it seemed completely unafraid of me. I saw it from a distance, and it saw me, then it hopped right over to me and seemed to pose for the camera! I haven’t even gotten my…
