Hello, and welcome to my website! My name is Ben Buechel. I am a Rochester, NY native. I’ve cultivated my passion for photography since 1989, when I was 7 years old, we built our own cameras in science camp out of a shoebox. Then when I was 10, I had early lessons alongside my mother at MCC. Those foundational experiences, learning to master light meters and develop film in a darkroom, ignited a lifelong love for capturing moments in time.
I almost exclusively shoot an Olympus DSLR camera with 12 megapixels. It has an amazing lens and sensor, producing beautiful and natural looking images. The sensor was designed right here at Kodak in Rochester, NY.
I occasionally use a Panasonic camera, also 12 megapixels, which is great for street photography and low-light conditions. Either way, I also have a variety of lighting solutions from reflectors to strobes, and speedlights.
