Hi, my name is Ben Buechel. I’ve been in business for 4 years now, although I have a lot more experience than that. When I was about 10 years old, I went to my mother’s photography class at Monroe Community College. This was back in the early nineties, when they still only had film cameras. I remember the professor teaching us how to use a light meter to test the exposure.
Then in high school is when I really started taking photos with my 35mm SLR. I enrolled in my high school photography class. My teacher liked one of my works so much, she had it put in an artwork display, behind glass, in the hallway. I remember spending a lot of time in the dark room developing my pictures.
In college I worked for Virtual Imaging Corp., as a real estate photographer. I photographed houses using special panoramic cameras and stitching them together with special software.
In 2021, I worked as a photographer for Tesla. They were opening a new facility in Rochester, and they hired me for several months to photograph the progress.
I currently shoot an Olympus eVolt 620 Digital SLR, and a Panasonic Lumix LX-100. Both are 12 Megapixel cameras. The Kodak CMOS image sensor of my eVolt produce more flattering photographs than many mirrorless cameras. Take a look at my portfolio and I think you’ll agree!
My Lumix is ideal for indoor shots, only because it has a lot of advanced features (such as Intelligent Assist, which helps with low-light conditions). Although my Olympus SLR is my preferred camera, I can wear both at the same time… along with some Godox flashes. So I can capture any moment in any event. Both cameras produce superb, high-resolution photos, with sharp detail and vivid colors.
I love photographing wildlife. I find it especially rewarding when I capture an auspicious event in nature. I also love doing portraits! If I can make you happy with the way you look, I’ll be happy! So I will check in to make sure you are comfortable with the kind of shots we are getting. I’m flexible, and I don’t cost a lot. I do photography because I love it, not to become wealthy from it.
