Rose of Sharon Bushes

So, we live on a property with a row of Rose of Sharon bushes lining both the front and back of our yards. The bee’s love them! So, every year, I try to get at least one good shot of a bee pollinating the flowers. This year I captured this image, which was shot on a very sunny day at high noon, so I was able to use a faster than normal shutter speed… 1/500th of a second. I love the result!

I use a telephoto lens for most of my macro shots. I know that’s not how you’re supposed to do it, but hey, it seems to work unbelievably well most of the time! Can’t really do bee photos with a cellphone camera.

However, the bees don’t bother anyone, one came into my car today for 3 seconds before realizing he went the “wrong way!” ?
